Hahn Air Launches NDC Platform Powered by PROS Shopping

According to IATA, its New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard promises “to address the industry’s current distribution limitations: product differentiation and time-to-market, access to full and rich air content and finally, transparent shopping experience1”.

With the recent unveiling of Hahn Air’s new NDC platform, another significant step was taken in the advancement of NDC. The scalable distribution platform is powered by PROS Shopping solutions to meet the pricing needs of carriers of all sizes, regardless if they are NDC capable or not. Hahn Air’s NDC platform enables their partners to extend their global reach through a new sales channel while for some, it saves time and resources needed to develop their own complex solution.

In our industry major transformations often take years to bring to life. To take this next step in airline distribution and accelerate innovation Hahn Air addressed its technology needs through a partnership with PROS and implemented the solution within 4 months. For the NDC enablement, Hahn Air relied on another strong partner in 2e Systems.

“Hahn Air chose PROS shopping and pricing technology because of its flexibility and ability to handle huge search volumes, coupled with PROS’ experience and depth of knowledge. At the same time, PROS’ solution comes at a predictable and affordable cost, resulting in a win-win partnership that generates additional revenue for our partner airlines from bookings coming through our new NDC channel,” explained Christopher Allison, Head of NDC at Hahn Air.

This partnership between PROS and Hahn Air powers the Offer generation of Hahn Air’s NDC platform, enabling new distribution opportunities and tapping in to the full potential of NDC.

The NDC distribution landscape sets new standards for airline eCommerce. For carriers this translates into more independence, full control over content and how it is distributed. PROS Shopping supports the growing shopping needs of airlines, while optimizing cost of distribution,” said Boyan Manev, Principal Product Strategy at PROS.

Airlines of all sizes and business models are looking to go beyond the distribution limitations of the past.
